Meet Our Team
Jessica Galli
Jessica is an experienced tutor and learning specialist. She teaches students from elementary school through college in Mathematics, Science, English, and History. She also specializes in standardized test preparation, essay writing, and designing personalized approaches to accommodate students with a variety of learning challenges.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UC Santa Barbara in Neuroscience, as well as Associates in Arts degrees in Mathematics, Earth Science, and Natural Sciences. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors with her dog, Milo.
Aaron Small
Aaron started tutoring students of all ages in Math and Science in 2013. He studied Chemistry and Geology at UCSB, where he worked as a research assistant in the Paleoclimate and Stable Isotope Lab, assisting in the chemical analysis of ocean sediments. He enjoys reading and bike riding, and he is also a classically-trained pianist and certified snowboard instructor.
Our Story
We are the original Study Buddies! Jessica and Aaron met in college after being paired up as Biology lab partners and quickly discovered that while we were certainly capable of learning anything on our own, the experience was more meaningful and the outcome was more successful when we studied together - when we were able to collaborate and consider alternative approaches and points of view.
This is the foundation of Study Buddies. We believe that learning should be fun and collaborative, that it should spark a healthy skepticism, nurture creativity, celebrate different points of view, and promote a deep and enduring understanding.
